What is Hypnobirthing?
Let’s face it, the word ‘hypnobirthing’ doesn’t give much away. Unless you’ve heard about it from a friend, done some reading, or have an interest in mindfulness and meditation – you might think that it sounds weird or involves pendulums. It doesn’t.
Hypnobirthing is about a complete birth preparation programme. With Hypnobirthing, you’ll discover that severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of your labour. You’ll also learn how to release the fears and anxieties you may currently have about giving birth.
Hypnobirthing lets you discover and experience the joy and magic of birth. Hypnobirthing is about you and your birth partner becoming experts in relaxation and building confidence. So you feel excited about birth instead of scared.
Who is it for?
Hypnobirthing is for anybody who is pregnant, whether a first time parent, or someone who has already experienced child birth. It teaches you and your birth partner practical tools to support a calm, peaceful and natural birth which can be used in a variety of environments.
The course will teach you breathing and relaxation techniques to help you cope with labour and birth. It teaches you ways to distract your mind and promote comfort in your body. They teach you tools for life, which help you to relax and sleep better during your pregnancy, focus on the positive and cope with everyday stress in the lead up, and on the day your baby comes.
